Course title - Common Inspection Framework – early education - British values
Length of course - 2 hours
This training course for childminders, nurseries and all early years providers is full of information and good practice advice to help practitioners who are preparing for Ofsted inspection and want to comply with the latest DfE requirements.
During this training session we will talk about…
- An overview of the NEW Common Inspection Framework
- What does ‘early education’ mean to early years providers?
- How can we ‘actively promote’ British values?
We start with an overview of the Common Inspection Framework – what is expected of early years practitioners? How can we comply with the latest DfE requirements? What are the new inspection judgements? What are Ofsted inspectors looking for during inspection?
Note - for 2 hours of dedicated training on Ofsted inspection preparation, please see my ‘Preparing for Ofsted inspection’ course.
We move on to talking about what early education means to providers. What do Ofsted expect to see when they make a judgement about whether the early education we offer children is good or outstanding? We ask ourselves - what is outstanding teaching – how can we make it inspirational and worthy of dissemination to others?
Note – for more information about how to record children’s early learning please see my ‘Learning Journeys’ training course.
Early years providers must 'actively promote' British values – what are they, why are they relevant and how can we use them in our settings? We talk about what they are - and what they are not… and how we can embed British values in everything we do with young children. We ask ourselves how teaching British values will prevent children from being drawn into radicalisation and extremism.
Note – it is recommended that all providers attend Local Safeguarding Children Board training which covers the Prevent Duty and how to comply with the latest safeguarding requirements. This course is an overview of British values – it is not a replacement for LA approved safeguarding training.
An attendance certificate for delegates and a list of useful websites and other good practice information will be emailed to the setting on completion of the training.
