I am being asked a lot – what are the 3 Is Ofsted are looking for during inspection?
The 3 I's are –
They are nothing new for early years providers who have been around a little while. Think back a few years and you will remember them in their previous incarnation of –
Ofsted’s definition of the 3 I's is –
- Intent – what are you doing? When are you doing it? Why are you doing it?
- Implementation – how are you doing it?
- Impact – what difference has it made?
Think about those questions again –
- What are you doing?
- When are you doing it?
- Why are you doing it?
- How are you doing it?
- What difference has it made?
All open-ended questions that encourage discussion and reflection – all questions you will need to be ready to answer during inspection. Are you confident?
